We started as a group of concerned citizens on the eastern shore of Virginia. Fish kills from net breakages that washed ashore, ongoing losses of marine species, and the constant presence of an industrial fishing fleet in our waters demanded our activism.
We have grown into a coalition of citizens, scientists, government representatives, business owners, and non-profit organizations across the Chesapeake Region. Each of us is doing our part to restore menhaden to their rightful place in the ecosystem.
We work together to build awareness of the issue and promote action. Our goal is not to create an organization but rather an army strong enough to out-resource and out-muscle a menhaden reduction fishing industry controlled by a foreign conglomerate.
